Old Faithful...and fainting GOATS?
Sometimes, you have to pick up on clues.
The gut feeling when I read that there was "another" Old Faithful...one of 3 in the world...hmmm.
We arrived in the parking lot in the town of Calistoga. There were only a few cars in the parking lot, which did surprise me.
The AAA book stated that this area was famous for it's geothermal springs, mud baths and such. Being in the middle of wine country, I found that interesting. We had to check it out! So we paid our admission fee, walked through the gate, and right away we got our first look at a geyser!
Here comes the steam!
The place was kind of cheesy anyway, but since you assume it is a natural wonder, you go with it. It was cool to see but it makes me look forward to the day when I will see the BIG ONE at Yellowstone! You could call this one a teaser.
Not to mention the fainting goats. Yep, you heard it here - they faint when they get surprised or stressed. It must have been baby season, because there were many many baby goats, and none of them were fainting. How much stress can you feel, living in northern California? Maybe they drink the wine. :)
