A dream come true...???
So, the picture isn't the best.
But, the dream is!
I explained to the kids that years ago, it had been a lifelong dream of mine to drive down Highway 1 in a convertible, with the wind blowing through my hair. :)
Well, because of our late start, our compact car to save money and gas, and a bit of rain and darkness...so what!!
I had survived the incredibly windy road, at NIGHT, and arrived on the coast, much to the kids' surprise.
Dark, rainy, even a little scary.
Part one of the dream come true!
After working our way down to Fort Bragg, we crossed back over to Highway 101 for the journey to San Francisco. We still had 200 miles to go and we had only gone about 30 miles in 2 hours. Yikes. Time to fly!
About 20 miles outside of San Francisco, I found myself falling asleep at the wheel. I had to pull over and take a nap with the kids sleeping soundly in their places. About an hour later, I had enough "juice" to make it across the Golden Gate bridge to our hotel in Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco, California!
And THAT was the end of the 2nd day.
