New York City - I want to be a part of it!
And, so we were!
Unfortunately, I am going to have to use my words to get you visual descriptions. Sadly, I have misplaced/lost/left somewhere my battery charger and pack for my camera. I somehow got my battery to survive in New York, but now, it is dead...
Just a quick pre-requisite to this story - one of my favorite things in life is travel. I guess you could say I am a free spirit. I am one of those unique individuals that actually sleeps better in a hotel room. I have enjoyed the privileges of jobs that require travel.
Even better though, is surprising my kids with spontaneous trips! We haven't done that, well...since last year's spring break, when I took them to Washington DC, and this blog began! Wow! I guess there was one little trip in there to an indoor waterpark, but other than that (and the quick trip to Austin with Megan), they have been home-bound!!
So, I surprised them with a weekend in New York. This was their 3rd trip to the great city I love so much. They were so excited - up until now they have only experienced it in the wintertime - you know, such mundane things as the Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade, skating in Rockefellar Center, going to the top of the Empire State Building. Forget that, MOM - we are ready for something more!!!
I had their bags packed and in my trunk. I took a friend with me, and in exchange, she picked them up and they met me at work, under the guise of going to Easton for dinner and shopping on Friday night! Instead, we pulled into the airport parking lot!!
From there, we had an unfortunate plane delay, but made it safely to Manhattan by midnight.
And since that is a lot of words, and most of my readers have ADD, I will continue on the NYC journey tomorrow night (and look for my camera battery in the process!!).
