You know...it's just been one of those times.

Everyone says to me..."I don't know how you find the time to blog!".
Well, it's usually very late at night...or lately, not at all!!!

I have several pics I want to post, but haven't had the time to download.

Between several birthday parties (thanks guys!) and an 8000 person event at our store (record sales!!), a trip to Boston (home at midnight last night) and softball and baseball and church play and ...even thinking I am going away is just all too much to absorb right now.

So, I am going to bed. But I just had to post this picture that I found when thinking I wanted to blog, because it made me laugh. Yes, this is a grapefruit, albeit a very, very dried one, that we found in our mother's kitchen as we were packing her up to move to her mountain hideaway last summer. Has it really been almost a year?? My sister Cathy is holding the petrified fruit. We laughed hilariously and I knew some day this picture would make her famous. We have the same sense of humor and can break out into hysterics at any given moment over the strangest of things. My sisters like to playfully argue who the favorite sister is. I am here to tell you that I love all of them because they are each unique and I have a special bond with each of them, but for different reasons and different times in my life. Cathy is the one that always was into sneaking candy with me, making funny faces, and bringing out my short appreciation for science and nature. She taught me to read in the hallway when I was 4, and was patient while I laughed every time I came to the word "but" that was in the Dr. Seuss books (ok, that is in there a LOT!). She also got me into trouble in kindergarten when she made me repeat the bad word I had learned at school to her privately - and went to tell on me for it. Something I have always appreciated about her is her independence and will to live the way she wants to. I lived with Cathy for a while in Cincinnati...a really cool time to be 18 and "on my own", living in her apartment. I do remember it being a really, really hot summer and no air conditioning...but she had these cats, that were just total entertainment. The cats that just have those personalities...the ones you see on America's funniest home videos and the e-mail clips we all receive! There was this one cat that would jump all around and then just STOP and STARE at this little pencil point on the wall - like Satan himself was going to come out of that spot on the wall and challenge the little kitty - and no doubt the kitty would win! It was the funniest thing! Now my sis lives in Texas, and I really miss having her closer to home. She doesn't miss the cold though. This doesn't stop us from having humorous moments. Ask her anytime why "debris in the roadway" causes laughter from her and Greg and I. Or, the June bug story...last spring break I took the kids to Austin and we discovered that not only do June bugs arrive early in Texas, but Cathy doesn't let them bother her - while the kids and I cowered on her recliner from the dodging beetles, she was picking them up with her bare hands and sending them out the back door!!!! I guess you kind of had to be there, but oh my, it's enough to make me laugh out loud remembering!

I love you CAC!!!

So...this is just a short story until I can catch you up with the rest of life as it has been the last couple of weeks...
