A slight detour, thanks to Betty....
I am not quite used to Betty yet...what I fondly call our GPS system.
She doesn't always tell me the exact place to turn!
Or maybe she does, and I am just old. :)
Well, we should have gotten on the highway much, much sooner...but instead we got the treat of a detour - right through Berkeley! It was pretty neat, and it actually reminded Ian and I of Chile. The low residential dwellings on main thorougfare...lots of little shops...Taquerias...and different colors dotting the landscape.
We finally made it to the highway and had our first taste of California landscape!
