What a way to end Christmas Day, 2007

Needs no words.

The sunset over the Pacific cast a warm, reddish glow on the mountainside in Big Sur.

I love that Ian is learning the value of these natural gifts early in life!

That's all folks!

After this beautiful series of photos, we still had some driving to do to arrive in San Simeon, our next stop. Not only were we not sure of this upcoming "motel", but we had no idea about the drive ahead of us. Remember the other tales of long and winding roads?
This time I had to pull over for all 3 of us to get some air, and more than once.
I think the altitude may have contributed, combined with the immensity of the mountains joining the sea.

We arrived safely in San Simeon, at about 8 pm.
Hey, for all the worry of what "motel" lie ahead of us...
We got a decent, clean room, with free internet, a heated pool and jacuzzi, and free breakfast.
I did a load of laundry for $2.75.
Wow, all this for $54 including tax!
Trust me, on this trip, this was a golden California gem!

Some beautiful posts! It is amazing what nature....God's magnificent creation....can do for the soul....not just the eyes! I too love the fact that Ian is learing to take it all in through the lens of his camera. It's being also recorded for future recall in that maginficent brain of his. I look forward to an evening with the Cuevases when you get back. When do you return?
